STAYING iNSPiRED & CREATING – aspiring fashion designer clothes
I’ve been a design, textile and handmade enthusiast amazed by designer clothes since before I can remember. In my teens it was my dream to become one but I thought it’s not a ‘real’ profession that I could make a living from. I attempted my first fashion illustrations at 13 or so, nearly 20 years ago in my blue-grey room with flowers. Twenty years on and my taste has matured but the essence never changed. And when I went on maternity leave the time arrived for me to unfold my creative ambitions.
There are many great things about being a stay at home mum. I wanted to be present in my son’s life but I also loved my nursing profession and wanted to do something grown up – work. I definitely wasn’t one of the people who run away from their full time job to online creative business. However, I made my som my priority. Yep, parenting is a full time job in itself, still I wondered what I could do that would earn from home but wouldn’t exhaust me dry. And that’s when I finally listened to my ‘aspiring-designer’ self.
I soon realised that textile design and making handmade clothes has two big benefits – I could earn from home with my son AND do something creative as a therapy. Because yes, it is true what they say – when you become a parent it’s wise to have some sort of creative outlet to keep the burnout and blues away!
So in 2018 I opened a small virtual handmade shop on Instagram and began creating what felt calming and authentic.
You can purchase the latest handmade pieces via my Instagram shop.
(Note: In Instagram shop claim via DM or comment. All pieces are invoiced and purchased via PayPal. Please note that all pieces are unique and subject to availability.)
CUSTOM ORDERS OF EVANGELINE linen kimono style DRESS ———————————————–
Most of the handmade pieces in the shop cannot be re-made, however one of the exceptions is Evangeline linen kimono style dress. This dress has two pockets and comes in midi/maxi length, with a matching handmade belt. It has become very popular and I am able to take custom orders.
The price of Evangeline dress is $79 plus shipping (mostly worldwide).
The dress is currently available in two standard sizes:
SMALL/MEDIUM and MEDIUM/LARGE only. Due to inability to measure in person, I am currently not able to take
custom measurements. Thank you for your understanding.
Optional embroidery is available at additional cost of $10-$20 for small to medium size embroidery. The choice is from colourful floral embroidery, neutral floral embroidery, with option of adding wax pearl beads or glass beads. Please note that the embroidery examples bellow are only guides, the embroidery design for you will not be EXACTLY the same.
Maxi style linen kimono dress; fabric weight 200g/m2 in neutral grey shade; photographed on size Small/Medium.
There are two options of linen fabric to choose from:
180g/m2 100% linen fabric – this fabric is lighter, more floaty and it doesn’t have as much body as heavier option linen fabric. It is also slightly more transparent. Depending on the current stock availability, this fabric comes in light beige, neutral and pale grey colour shades.
200g/m2 100% linen fabric – this fabric is the heavier option for fashion purposes (for comparison of the thickness – heavier 230g/m2 fabric is already used for upholstery and decorative purposes). This fabric is not transparent at all, it isn’t as floaty but holds the dress body very well. This fabric mostly comes in rustic neutral shades.
Kindly note, that there is a WAITING LIST for Evangeline dress. To join and get your estimated time slot please contact me at email@example.com.
In your message please include whether you wish the embroidery option to be added and what type of fabric you have decided for. Once we agree on a time slot you will be sent an invoice, when it is cleared your time slot will be confirmed.
