WHIPPED COCOA BODY BUTTER
Whipped Cocoa Body Butter
Nourishing and easy recipe for natural cosmetic treat
Whipped cocoa body butter is really amazing for nurturing and restoring your skin. If you’re prone to have a dry skin or burn easily, this recipe is for you! I have already managed to burn my skin while gardening this year. The late spring sunshine seems somehow more aggressive to the skin even through the clouds. I ended up with red arms and shoulders and needed to treat the skin. Initially I used a healing antiseptic cream for burns containing Panthenolum. However, later when the skin is just dry the cocoa body butter is an amazing option!
Cocoa butter softens the skin, hydrates and regenerates. It also encourages skin tonning and prevents stretch marks. I particularly like to use it for the skin in summer because when you keep the whipped body butter inside the fridge, it’s beautifully cool once you apply it. There is no one way to make the body butter! It is entirely up to your preference what kind of oil or scent you’ll choose to add to the mixture.
Tip: There are a few natural ingredients which will turn your homemade whipped body butter into a protective sunscreen lotion! Ingredients such as raspberry oil or carrot oil. Raspberry oil is particularly efficient, it is pressed out of the raspberry seeds and usually odourless. You can easily make the natural sunscreen at home and give it beautiful scent by using essential oils. However, remember that some – particularly the citrus ones – make your skin more photosensitive. It is best to avoid these when planning to spend time in the sun!

You will see the mixture turning white and fluffy as you whisk. Voila – you’ve made your own homemade whipped body butter! Scoop the mixture out of the bowl into a glass jar, close the lid and keep inside the fridge for up to a month!
