Instructions:
To make delicious marinated cheese recipe, begin by cutting both blocks of the Camembert cheese in quaters. I have mainly done this to fit the cheese nicely inside the jar. However, if your jar is big enough to fit the entire block, you can cut the cheese horizontally to place some of the ingredients inside. This will form a ‘sandwich’ which will help the flavours to distribute throughout the cheese block. If you prefer to cut the cheese blocks in quarters, begin by layering the ingredients in between the cheese.
Wash the chilli pepper, peel the onion, the garlic cloves and cut all in small rings. If you’re using fresh bay leaves, simply break them in your hands to help the flavour to release into the oil. Divide all ingredients in about 5 portions and add them in between the layers of cheese, beginning with the bottom of the glass jar. Place the cheese quarters on top and repeat the process until the glass jar is full.
As a final step pour the cold-pressed sunflower oil over the cheese, spices and herbs to the top. Close the jar with the lid and the marinated cheese recipe is finished! Now let the cheese flavours mature in the fridge for a couple of weeks. Bon appetit!
