We all tend to write long lists filled with New Year’s resolutions. We think of loosing weight, finding more time to spend with our loved ones, we set business goals and aim to make our dreams come true. But the list can soon become overwhelming. Often times, the reality of every day life will eventually push the list to the side and it can leave us feeling defeated.
There is a simple way to improve your year
Inspirational quotes help us regain balance in our thoughts. They bring what matters back in our focus. They are much softer and less invasive way to introduce gentle changes into our lives which are more likely to remain. And lasting changes will produce the results we hope for. What is even more gentle than a quote is a simple word to live by throughout the year. One word containing a liberating message to focus on.
Last year, I chose a the word ‘joy’ to live by in 2019. And I can’t tell you how many changes this simple word produced! No matter what the situation or mood, this word always helped to center my mind and calm my soul. It gave me a sense of purpose and soon I began to see it also triggered positive, calming changes.
The word for 2020
My word for the year 2020 is ‘regenerate’. And it reminds me of Ellie from Petalplum, have you met Ellie? Ellie is a peace, creativity and nature loving artist. I first came across her beautiful work while searching for a calming slow stitching course. Following her work since, I’ve recently received an email newsletter where she spoke exactly about inspirational words to live by. I was so happy to see that others think the same way!
